This deck concentrates on cyber-related threats. It explores the motivations behind malicious insider behaviour, how individuals identify and gather information to support their aims, and how they ultimately achieve their objectives. The content is intended for educational use and is based on case studies and fictional scenarios.

How to play?

  • Choose a Scenario: Select an insider threat example from the news, a case study, or a ‘Profile’ card.
  • Set Up the Cards: Shuffle and lay out the phase cards where all players can see them.
  • Match the Phases: Work through the scenario and assign each phase card to where you think it fits in the sequence.
  • Explain Your Reasoning: For each match, explain why the phase applies and how it relates to the insider’s actions or motivations.
  • Review the Full Chain: Once complete, walk through the full sequence to understand how the insider progressed from risk to threat.
